The success of the international summer festival Musica Orbis Prague Festival, held since 2019, led to the idea of organizing a national version of the festival. This step highlights the growing interest in choral singing in our country and supports the Prague cultural scene. Thus, in 2021, the annual Musica Orbis Gloria Festival was added to the festival family, providing another opportunity to develop Czech choral tradition.
Musica Orbis Gloria festival program regularly includes a Festival Concert, which ceremoniously opens the event and gives choirs the opportunity to perform not only in front of a Prague audience. The festival then culminates in a cruise on the Vltava River with a buffet, which is also an opportunity to form new friendships and strengthen existing ties between choirs. This closing afternoon provides an ideal setting for informal meetings, exchanging experiences, and singing together, for example, on the deck of the ship.
On Sunday, choirs can also enrich the atmosphere of the Mass at St. Vitus’s Cathedral at Prague Castle, adding a spiritual dimension to the festival.
